The willingness of others in the janitorial and refuse and recycling field to provide mentorship enabled L&J to succeed – and led Mr. Williams to follow the same philosophy. He passes on his knowledge and skills at every opportunity, whether it’s with new business associates or his own staff. His on-staff family members include General Manager Daina Williams and Business Manager Angela Frendle.
Daina Williams is a quality-oriented general manager of L&J Building Maintenance. As the next generation leader, he will employ his robust knowledge to carefully and steadily ensure success. His unique certifications are people-focused, which have helped him be a more effective leader. Some of his certifications include: CPR/First Aid, OSHA, IICRC Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification, Defense Driving, and Suicide Prevention. Williams knows what it means to lead a team, how to spur productivity and maintain relationships with clients.
Angela Frendle is the definition of dedication. She is founder and owner Lonnie Williams’ stepdaughter. Frendle is an expert of the ins-and-outs of L&J Building Maintenance because of her devotion to work at the family business. During her time as a high school student and college student at the University of Kansas, she worked as a part time janitor for L&J Building Maintenance, her family’s business. She later earned her Master’s degree from Washburn and took a part time administrative job, which sparked an interest to learn more about the business world. Today, she serves as a business manager.
Lonnie Williams is the owner of L&J Building Maintenance, formerly called L&J Enterprises. He studied psychology at Long Beach State College, which helped build his skills as a supportive leader. Before he opened his own company, he served in the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War. Afterward, he worked at the Topeka Juvenile Correctional Facility for roughly 30 years helping young adults. His breadth of experience and hands-on and systematic approach has helped his business thrive. L&J Building Maintenance has earned awards as a premier commercial cleaning and maintenance company.
